I have posted on the Post bulletin board a list of our members who reside at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Feel free to write letters or greeting cards and bring them to the Post before January 26, and I will personally take the letters and cards to them. Also if you’re interested in visiting them at GRHV, contact me at the phone number listed above, and we can plan to go visit them when you have free time. They will really appreciate your thoughtfulness, and thank you in advance for your time well spent in helping others.

Greetings Legionnaires:
We welcome you to join us in service to our Community, State and Nation. The Legionnaires of Post 459 are happy you chose to join our family at this exciting time.
We are a Post that believes in The American Legion's vision for a strong America. The vision consists of 4 Pillars of Service:
- A strong national security
- taking care of veterans
- mentoring youth
- promoting patriotism and honor
We are a Post that will encourage you to be active in the programs and activities of The American Legion. We will keep you informed of these programs through our monthly newsletter and this website.
While it is not a requirement to purchase a Uniform Cap (approximately $35.00), we are asking you to do so. When you are in the eye of the public and at our special Legion events you can be easily recognized and join the rest of us in uniform.
