SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE AMERICAN LEGION!

 

The Dixie Vincent Memorial Scholarship offered is offered annually by SAL & Auxiliary from Post 459.

 

2021 Dixie Vincent Memorial Scholarship

This annual $500 scholarship is being presented by the Sons of The 
American Legion and the Ladies Auxilary, Post #459, in honor of our sister, Dixie  
Vincent. 

Dixie was our club manager, friend, and a true patriot. 

The recipient of this award should feel truly honored to win this award bearing her name.

 

Who is eligible:

There are 2 ways to be eligible for this scholarship:


1. Any High School Senior enrolled in a Kent County High School and is a descendant of a U.S. veteran is eligible to apply.


2. Any Kent County High School Senior, who is in a high school military-related training program is also eligible to apply.
To clarify, we mean programs such as JROTC, Sea Cadets, Young Marines, and other similar programs.
Please note: students in such military-related training programs do not need to be a descendant of a U.S. veteran
to apply for this scholarship.

 


Application Procedure:

Please fill out the application (see link below) form and return it to Post 459
by May 5th, 2021.  Applications will be examined by a committee from Post 459 and a decision will be made.


Award Presentation:

A check for $500 will be presented to the recipient when our committee 
receives a copy of the recipient's college report card with a 2.5 GPA or above 
with a minimum of 12 credits passed from one of the 
following semesters:  summer 2021, fall 2021, or winter 2022.
